Tenor saxman Grady Gaines is in charge of the proceedings, wailing on the instrumentals "There Is Something on Your Mind" and "Soul Twist," while pianist Teddy Reynolds, Gaines's guitar-wielding brother Roy Gaines, and Joe Medwick divvy up the vocals. Outstanding guitarist Clarence Hollimon is also on board.

   Once the Upsetters disbanded, Grady toured with Millie Jackson and Curtis Mayfield, although he stopped playing in He re-emerged in , reforming the now Texas Upsetters, playing at concerts in Houston before recording Full Gain (), Horn of Plenty (), and Jump Start ().

   The album Horn Of Plenty followed on Black Top in Gaines and his Texas Upsetters continue to blow up a Texas-sized storm wherever they play.
