    This is a must-have album for any fan of ska music. However, this edition of "This Is Ska" lacks one song I've been looking for: My Boy Lollipop from Millie Small. This track was on the original release that I bought back in the late nineties. A friend of mine borrowed it and of course, the CD never went back where it belongs/5(6).

    This is simply an essential album: Three discs that contain the best of ska, a rhythm born in Jamaica (pre-dating reggae) and was so popular in England during the sixties (where they call it bluebeat), to the point where it was the inspiration for a movement (the two-tone) that in the early 80 s gave way to Madness, The Specials, The Selecter, Bad Manners and The English Beat as main exports /5(4).

    Ska'd for Life Train To Skaville - The Ethiopians 7. It's Magic - Dennis Brown 8. Driving Me Mad - Hot Knives 9. Twice - Shadows At first listen these cd's are pure gold. Great variety of sounds and bands and if you are trying to get into two tone it's a great starter/5(4).
